They live in fear of each other. They are their own policemen. They have no real friends, friends that you can be open and honest with, The spirituality that they claim they have is only the spirituality that others can view, not the real spirituality that only God sees. Everyone is in a rat race of seeing who is the most spiritual. Branding names on people is a favorite of the WTS, and no one wants to be branded "spirituality weak"

JW Mentality
by Crooked Lumpy Vessel ini recently received a visit from a sister who is moving out of the area.
she was telling me how she would live in her new place on the weekends and then stay here locally in an apartment (mon - fri) while she and her husband finish out their last year before retirement.
what made the conversation so mental was she was explaining this to me in terms of how she would be attending her meetings.

Hi there! Yes, does anyone in this board still go witnessing? I am married to a JW wife, ( a good woman to ! ) I have 2 young teenage girls, and we all go to most meetings all the time, I've known about the WTS Lies for a few years now, and I haven't gone to FS for about 3 years, I give a modest report to shutup the elders. Wifey go's to FS once every 3 months or so, and she takes the girls with her, everything is OK but I can see the girls tend to loose a bit of respect for me when they see me staying home and they go alone with mum, I am very sure that when they grow older they'll forget about the WTS I'll make sure of that, but untill then, I feel I should go along just so they can get a feeling that we are doing it together as a family. But I find it dame hard to face a person and preach what I know isn't true, so, does anyone here still go to FS and how do you do it??? Do I just offer the WT?? yuk! Maybe i just read them a verse from the bible?? any advice?
Please I am NOT interesting in anyone who doesn't understand my point, I do NOT want to DA myself, I feel its OK to keep going to meetings while ALL my friends and family are still JW"s etc.. etc..

They hired a JW at my job
by dura-luxe ina new girl was hired at my job, and within 4 days it came out that she was a jehovah's witness.
amazing how you could go years without knowing another coworker's religion, but we all had to know about this girl within 4 days.
they had an assembly this weekend, and of course, we all knew exactly why she was taking the day off.

well if she knows you are DFed, then she'll treat yuo like yuor poison, but she knows that yuor parents are JW's now, what i would do, is say that you didn't go further and got batized because there were things that you didn't understand and agree with, don't go into detail, slowly she will think about you and slowly she will ask you more in the hope of changing your mind, but it can be a oppounity to help her change her mind, allthough this is unlikely, because the JW life is a Lifestyle not just a belief. I would slowly tell her about all the history of the WTS, how 1914 thingy is wrong, and maybe even show her what you've seen on the internet, eg silentlambs. but let her came to you. bit by bit

A Hurricane is NOT an "Act of God". When God Acts he firstly gets a warning of his incoming act, secondly he gives those who listen to his warning a chance to escape, and thirdly, those who die by an Act of God are ONLY those who did not listen. Hurricane, Earthquake, Fires, Floods, Tornados etc.. kill anyone and anything, good or bad people, they give no warning and no escape. They are Acts of Nature not of God. Its the insurance Companies that call them Acts of God.

So When and Why Did They Stop Feeding People At Assemblies?

the feeding of umpteen thousand using voliunteers was their "in" with all the local press.
i know that cafeterias were still in use in '72 when i left.

When they used to have the food service they would discourage us from buying food from outside the convention centre because we are buying from "satans World". Now that they don't have a food service, probably because of tax reasons, its OK to buy food from "satans World" haha

Some of them do really beleive that the WTS is the truth and they are doing the right thing. They see those who have left has someone who will die at Armogedon. The problem is that if one of us tries to explain to them why we left or why we don't beleive its the truth they switch off, so untill something happens to them that makes them re-think about the WTS they will allways remain there and feel "sorry" for us.

Why do some here refer to themselves as "Apostates"?
by Netty inthe only real definition of apostate i ever had was from being raised a witness.
so, i have this idea that it is an evil, wicked thing.
because of that i dont like to call myself an apostate.

IF you go to www.dictionary.com and type in "Apostate" you will see that it's a regular word in the english language. It means "someone who has abandoned one's religion, a political party or one's principals....etc.." So anyone who changes their mind about what they once believed is an Apostate, many JW's were not born as a JW, they were catholics or some other faith, they've abandoned their old faith and become JWs, so they are now apostate to the catholics since they're abandoned their former faith, if someones was a Republican and now is a Democrat then he is now an apsotate to the Republicans and so on.... So the word "Apostate' isn't in itself an evil word at all. So really many JW's were already Apostates when they become JW's because they had abandoned their former religion
The watchtower applies certain scriptures to "apostates" that normally refer to the anti-christ. Since the WTS beleive they come from God anyone who leaves them is leaving God, so they feel it proper to apply these anti-christ verses to them so as to make them look evil.
I've noticed that its not easy to find exactly how the WTS defines an Apostate, the articules in the WTS just keep on applying anti-christ scriptures to them so as to make the reader come up with his/her own concluesion but I've never noticed where the WTS simples state "An apostate is a .... " I think its because they know that by continuously applying anti-christ scriptures to them, they allow the reader to basically change the true meaning of the word "Apostate"
